Pints with Puck: Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout

A good oatmeal stout is, for lack of a better word… GOOD (see what I did there?) Roasted, Toasted, Dark, whatever you want to call it….

Just don’t call it burnt beer. Some do.

That’s unfortunate because it can give the wrong impression. Some people just don’t like dark, or dark ‘roasted’ beer. That’s OK. But if you DO, then Breckenridge Brewery Oatmeal Stout is a beer you can truly enjoy. Listen:

BB – Oatmeal Stout

That extra roasty/toasty malt and grain flavour (for my English & Canadian friends) is spot on, and plain delicious. It will leave you wanting more.

And yes, it clocks in at only 5% so you can enjoy more than one. It delivers almost imperial flavor, without the extra syrup and booziness. It’s not a one-and-done beer like may imperials tend to be.

I hate to keep going back here, because you know I don’t like “beer seasons” but there is some validity to most of them. Stouts, Porters, and most dark beers just seem to taste better in colder weather. #Truth

Yet I’m still of the opinion that you should drink whatever you like, no matter the season. Breckenridge Brewery Oatmeal Stout is available year round. Although I think it tastes best on your cornflakes… just kidding… It tastes great around a nice campfire with some friends.

We can still do that, right?
