#Science determines the scariest movie of all time.

There’s NO shortage of lists about the “Scariest movies of all time”….many say “The Exorcist” is tops, and it’s hard to argue.

The scenes in that movie linger many, many years after it’s release. Nowadays, when you watch a horror movie produced in the 70’s, the soundtrack & score seem mismatched and many of the graphics don’t hold up to today’s CGI capabilities.

But “The Exorcist” seems to always be able to endure the test of time.

For me, “Jaws” will always be the scariest movie of all time. Scared me RIGHT out of the water. Unlike a zombie or alien or vampire, sharks actually exist and can/will eat you!

Someone wanted to see what horror movies actually moved the heart monitor to determine which one is the scariest of all time. And according the the results, “Sinister” and “Insidious” tied at the top of the list.

Unfortunately, they only studied 50 movies and everything in the top 10 came out in the last twenty years. No “Halloween”, “Friday the 13th”, “Omen”, “Exorcist”, or “The Shining”. Must have been a bunch of millennials.

Here’s the top 10 according to #Science:

  • “Sinister” & “Insidious” tied with 86 beats per minute at their scariest
  • “The Conjuring” at 85bpm
  • “Hereditary” at 83bpm
  • “Paranormal Activity” at 82bpm
  • “It Follows” at 81bpm
  • “The Conjuring 2” & “The Babadook” at 80bpm
  • “The Descent”, “The Visit” & “The Ring” at 79pm

Kinda sad to see all these at the top of the list. For the full results, click here.
