When it comes to video games First Person Shooter games are almost an entity of their own. The genre goes back a very long time, with so many games that many consider to be household names.
While I certainly haven’t played all of them, I’d like to think I’ve played most of the key games that many would consider staples.
By the way, I’m selecting games whether they are multiplayer or not, though most do have a multiplayer aspect to them. Also, not an XBox guy. Not that I’m particularly against it. Just haven’t spent much time playing any of their games. So you won’t find Halo here. Sorry, not sorry.

I had to take Goldeneye as my number 1. I have far, far too many fond memories playing that game with my friends late at night, ordering pizza and staying up into the wee hours of the morning. And it looks like we’ll be reliving those days soon enough with the upcoming remake bringing online play to the series. I’m super stoked. More on that here.
