The most iconic Halloween movies of all time.

Every October, the wife & I try to watch at least one Halloween/horror movie a day.

It’s definitely my favorite genre, and there’s no shortage of good & bad horror movies out there.

This year, we’ve decided to try & watch some of the originals and cult classics, rather than just the “same-old, same-old”.

Stuff like the original “My Bloody Valentine” and “House of Wax”, or cult favorites like “Scanners” and “Re-Animator”.

We’ll still watch Freddy & Jason & Michael Myers…but we’ve made it a point to watch some different stuff this year.

Thankfully, there’s also no shortage of lists about people’s favorite horror films. And this list surveyed 2,000 Americans to find the most “iconic” horror movies.

The top 5 are:

  1. Halloween. Hard to argue with a movie titled “Halloween” being the most iconic HALLOWEEN film.

2. A Nightmare on Elm St.(the original, obviously)

3. Scream

4. The Exorcist(honestly, if this wasn’t in the top 5, then we’ve got some SERIOUS problems)

5. Beetlejuice(this one is tough, because I love the movie, but I don’t really put it in the “horror” category)

My top five “Most Iconic” Halloween/horror movies would be:

  1. Exorcist
  2. Friday the 13th
  3. Hellraiser
  4. Nightmare on Elm St.
  5. Halloween

You gotta play the hits, man.
