Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…………………….

I was actually enjoying the warmer weather last week. Got the bike out, washed the cars, did some lawn maintenance.

Now, it’s like winter is back, even though Spring just started earlier this week.

If you’re looking to stay warm & stay indoors this weekend, you are in luck! There’s plenty of stuff happening in the Coulee Region over the next couple of days, and here’s a few of my suggestions:

FRIDAY – THE LA CROSSE AREA BUILDERS ASSOCIATION HOME SHOW @ THE ONALASKA OMNI CENTER

This event actually runs all weekend at the Onalaska Omni Center, so if you cannot make it on Friday, there’s still time to attend on Saturday & Sunday!

If you’re looking for inspiration when it comes to home improvement projects, or if you want to speak to area professionals about remodeling or other jobs around the house, you should DEFINITELY attend the La Crosse Area Builders Association Home Show.

Siding, roofing, windows, decks, cabinetry…they’ve got it all at the Home Show.

It’s from 4-8pm on Friday, from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, and from 10am until 3pm on Sunday. Tickets are just $7 for anyone over 16, and you can buy them online here, or get them at the door.

SATURDAY – CULT MOVIE NIGHT @ THE RIVOLI THEATRE & PIZZERIA

The monthly “Cult Movie Night” at the Rivoli Theatre & Pizzeria is this Saturday night & they are going to the far reaches of space for the two films.

Starting with 1984’s classic “Dune”, directed by David Lynch, and followed by “Starship Trooper” from 1997!

Would you like to know more?

Of course you would! Doors for “Cult Movie Night” open at 6pm and as always, there will be exclusive, one-night-only video pre-rolls featuring music, trivia, & clips from both films.

“Dune” will start at 6:30pm and there will be a brief intermission between the two films, with “Starship Troopers” set to begin at 9pm.

And make sure you stick around afterwards for a post-“Cult Movie Night” happy hour in the movie lounge.

SUNDAY – CHICKEN-Q @ THE BADGER STATE SPORTSMEN’S CLUB

Chicken-Q season is in full swing with the Trempealeau FD-Q a couple of weeks ago, and the Shelby FD-Q last Sunday.

This week, head down the River Road to Stoddard on #SundayFunday for some Q at the Badger State Sportsmen’s Clubhouse on Mowhawk Valley Rd.

The Chicken-Q starts at 11am and goes until the chicken is gone. You can dine-in or take it with you.

Find more info on this event here.

As always, there’s a BUNCH of other events happening in our area this weekend, and you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com

And if you’ve got an event coming up that you’d like to see featured on AroundRiverCity.com, you can submit it for free here.
