Other GOT Spin-offs Are Shelved, But Not Dead

Seemingly the second Game of Thrones aired it’s last episode on May 19th 2019, the spin-off ideas came from all angles. A couple of those spin-offs got quickly shot down, while House of the Dragon continued and became a thing. To great success, I may add. I might be more invested in this show than I have been since season 4 or 5 of the original series.

But while those other spin-offs got shot down, George R. R. Martin used his blog to state that these projects have merely been shelved, and are not dead.

I’m somewhat glad this happened, because it’s definitely true that one can have too much of a good thing. As much as I love House of the Dragon, it’s been difficult to remember everyone’s name in just one watch. I couldn’t imagine having to keep track of 2 other shows full of characters.
But when will we see these other spin-offs, if ever? All of that is, at current moment, just as unsure as it is when we will get House of the Dragon season 2. So all there is to do now is wait.

Game of Thrones fans are certainly used to that, for better or worse…

House of the Dragon season 1 can still be seen on HBO Max
