Summer Party Tip – Things to do in WI this Labor Day weekend.

The long, holiday weekend is here….and summer is about to come to an end.

Yes, we’ll have some really nice weather for another month or two, so get out & ride! Take the boat for a cruise, get a few more dips in that pool, and make sure you’re grilling all the meats!

If you’re looking to get outta town this weekend and do something fun, there’s no shortage of events(large & small) happening in the Dairy state.

Get to a brewery & try some beers!

We love our beer in Wisconsin. And we’re extremely lucky to have so many incredibly talented brewers & vintners throughout the state. Many of them right in our area. You can easily Google “Breweries in Wisconsin” and find a number of lists, or just plug “breweries near me” into your Maps.

I found the “Beer Near” list from the Journal Sentinel handy in the past.

Most breweries offer tours, so check their website for hours & tickets. You can usually find a cluster of breweries in an area, so try to visit a few, & make sure you’ve got a sober driver or take an Uber/Lyft. A lot of local breweries will also have a food truck on the weekends, and live music! So get out there & grab a drink!

Go to the Badger game!

Yup, the 18th ranked Badgers open up their regular season against unranked Illinois State on Saturday evening at Camp Randall stadium with kickoff at 6pm!

You can buy tickets here.

Get to Harley’s Hometown Rally!

The Harley Hometown Rally is a celebration of all things Harley-Davidson. The event runs September 1st through the 5th and is located on the 20-acre campus of The Harley-Davidson Museum, featuring live events, exhibitions, motorcycle demos, and SO much more!

They’ve got live music from Hairball, Royal Bliss, and Jackyl!!!!!

Find a complete list of the events here.

Try a new supper club!

The wife & I have been trying to find a Friday to get to the Monkey’s Roost in Melrose for a few weeks, and now that the 95 Days of Summer are over, I’ve got a much lighter schedule, so I think this might be the week we make it there.

And as you know, there’s some REALLY good supper clubs in the Midwest. The Friday night fish, the brandy old-fashioned, the salad bar, the relish tray!!!!!

Nothing like an evening at a true Wisconsin supper club.

As with the breweries, you can certainly search Google for any supper clubs in your area, or check out the Wisconsin Supper Club website!

Taste of Madison!!!!!!!!!!

Wayland, Shallow Side, Crobot, the Black Moods, the Mighty Nonpoint, & Daughtry!!!!!!

Just to name a few! Two days of food, drinks, music & more, and it’s all for a good cause. Hard to believe the Taste is celebrating it’s 40th anniversary this year. And the best part….IT’S FREE!!!!!!

Find more info about the Taste of Madison here.

Throw some cow shit!

The best chips come from Wisconsin’s dairy-air!

The annual cow chip throw is Saturday & Sunday in Prairie du Sac. There’s food, drinks, live music, a 5k run/walk, a game tent for the kids, and of course….turd tossing!

Find more info on this event along with a complete schedule here.

Plenty of other stuff happening in the Badger state this weekend, so get out & enjoy it!!!!!
