On April 26th, Shawn Smith was diagnosed with Stage III Multiple Myeloma Cancer, a type of Bone Cancer. Since his diagnosis, he has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy, bone hardening, and most recently hip surgery due to a fall that caused his hip to break.
Shawn and his wife, Amy, have 3 children, Nick, Shauna, and Alex. Because of the immense medical bills and their upcoming trip to Rochester for a bone marrow transplant, they are struggling to meet their financial responsibilities.
There will be a benefit for Shawn and his family on Saturday, August 9th from noon until 6pm at the Back 40 Supper Club in Caledonia, MN.
