Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
Is that the 20’s I see in the forecast???
Holy crap! It’s going to be like a heat wave. Might actually get the truck washed finally. It’s a filthy pig right meow and could use a rinse.
Other than that, I think we’ll be laying low this weekend after going out all last weekend for the Riverfront Revolt and a Sunday full of football.
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY – THE MATT MAHLUM BAND @ THE ALPINE INN
On Friday night, get your duff up the bluff to the Alpine Inn for some live music from the Matt Mahlum band!
If you area a fan of Pink Floyd, Chris Stapleton, Marcus King, The Allman Brothers Band, G. Love & Special Sauce, Steve Winwood, etc….then you’re going to love the Matt Mahlum Band!
They hit the stage at 7pm and there’s no cover charge!
Get to the Alpine Inn early and grab a burger and a couple of beverages. Or chow down on one of their amazing pizzas!
If you enjoy soulful blues-driven rock & roll with a classic jam feel, you’ll love the Matt Mahlum Band with plenty of originals and well-known covers.

SATURDAY – 2026 MODEL RELEASE PARTY @ GREAT RIVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON
I know, I know…it feels like we’re NEVER going to get on the bikes again. This weather is not going anywhere anytime soon, but this Saturday from 10am until 4pm…you can stop by Great River Harley-Davidson and check out the 2026 HD models!
Learn about new models, features, colors, and updates, and ask questions with Great River HD‘s knowledgeable team throughout the day.
There will be snacks and drinks available while you hang out, and whether you’re already planning your next bike or just curious about what Harley-Davidson has in store for 2026, this is the perfect day to stop by and be part of the excitement.
And while you’re at the store, might as well spend that HD gift card you got for Christmas!

SUNDAY – 2ND ANNUAL SOUPER BOWL @ WISCO JOHNNY’S
It’s cold. There’s no football this weekend.
Why not get to Wisco Johnny’s for their 2nd Annual Souper Bowl competition???
If you’ve got a killer soup recipe that you want to show off, just stop by Wisco Johnny’s this week to register your concoction!
Chicken noodle, Italian Wedding, Minestrone, etc. If you’ve got a soup that everyone talks about after a family potluck, bring it to Wisco Johnny’s this Sunday.
Prizes for the top three soups include bar tabs and schwag packages. And if you just want to stop by and try the soups and vote for your favorites, it’s just $5 per person to taste & vote for your favorites.
