Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.

I’ve got two items on the agenda this weekend.

  1. The St. Paddy’s Day .01k(more on that in a bit)
  2. Corned beef & cabbage

That’s it. And maybe a beer or two. Or five. Definitely an Irish car-bomb at Brother’s after the “run” is over.

If you’re looking for something to do in the Coulee Region this weekend, you’re in LUCK! Here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – FRIDAY NIGHT COMEDY @ THE MAIN – AN EVENT SPACE

Start the weekend off with some drinks & some laughs at the Main – An Event Space! After taking last week off, comedy is back and tickets are available in advance online here.

Don’t wait to buy your tickets, either!! The reserved tables sell out quickly. If they’re still available, you can buy tickets at the door at The Main later tonight.

This week, you’ve got Jake Ruble & Brian Smiley on the stage. Doors open at 7pm, and the comedy starts at 8pm.

Find more info on this event here.

SATURDAY – 19TH ANNUAL ST. PADDY’S DAY .01K @ BROTHER’S BAR

Hard to believe we’ve been doing this thing for 18 years already. We’ve had dudes in chicken suits. A guy in a monkey costumes. Mary fell down. Skradie built a hovercraft. There was a goat that one year. The year with all the green dust.

Hell, we even managed to hold this event in 2020 when the entire world shut down because of Covid.

Raising money to help the Hunger Task Force in La Crosse is too important to let a little thing like a global pandemic stop us!

You can register in advance for the World’s Shortest Run/Walk online, or you can register at Brother’s Bar on Pearl St. starting at 3pm on Saturday. Registration includes a .01k t-shirt(while they last) and a green tap beer at Brother’s. Plus, all the proceeds from this event benefit the HTF.

We’ll shut the street down and get it all set up for this marathon before getting everyone lined up at about 6pm.

An event such as this would NOT be possible without your help, and the help of our incredible sponsors, Paul’s Heating and Air Conditioning, Schneider Accounting and Tax , Great River Harley-Davidson, April Carrier – Farmers Insurance, and Thorson Graphics.

Find more info on this event here.

SUNDAY – THE GUILTY KILTS @ THE PEARL ST. BREWERY

I’ll be busy making corned beef & cabbage at home & getting ready to fill out my brackets, but if you’re looking to have a #SundayFunday, then get your ass to the Pearl St. Brewery for some Irish food, music, and beers!

Doors open at noon and the corned beef & cabbage will be available(while it lasts), with The Guilty Kilts taking the stage at 2pm! Tickets can be purchased in advance online, or grab them at the door on Sunday!

Find more info on this event here.

As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening in our area this weekend & you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com

And if you’ve got an event coming up that you’d like to see featured on AroundRiverCity.com, you can submit it for free here.
