Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend.

And just like that, the Rock Stops are over! Yes, there is one left this afternoon at Fast Eddie’s in Sparta with Twisted Tea, but after that, you’ll have to wait until the End of Summer Bash at Features in Holmen on Saturday, September 9th for your next chance to qualify for the bike!

As for me, I’m not really sure what this holiday weekend holds. We had a friend who recently lost their house to a fire and may need some help moving some stuff this weekend, and we definitely plan on going out to eat somewhere at some point, but other than that, we’ll probably lay kinda low after our big bash last weekend.

If you’re looking to get out & have some fun this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – ANDY HUGHES @ WHISKEY RIVER BAR & GRILL

Our buddy, Andy Hughes, is going to be very busy this weekend with gigs in the Dells, at the Alpine Inn, and tonight at Whiskey River Bar & Grill in West Salem.

There’s no cover, and Andy plays from 7-10pm…but get to Whiskey River early for their weekly meat raffles that begin at 6pm and make sure you try some of their amazing wings!

SATURDAY – VINTAGE & CUSTOM MOTORCYCLE SHOW @ THE BEER SHOP

Get to the Beer Shop in Sparta for an incredible selection of craft beers and their second annual Vintage & Custom motorcycle show.

Everything gets underway at noon on Saturday. It’s free to enter, but they ask that you please register online beforehand to participate.

Click here to register your bike. Patrons & participants will be able to cast a single vote for your favorite bike, and the top three vote-getters will score a prize thanks to the Beer Shop.

SUNDAY – ROCK THE VETS @ THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 417

This Sunday, it’s the 6th Annual “Rock The Vets” concert & fundraiser at the American Legion Post 417 on French Island.

Two stages, eight bands, food, drinks, dancing, and over seven hours of continuous music!

Bring a lawn chair & enjoy live music from Bruce Tessmer, Brianna Rae, Cheech, the Sun Dogs, the Executives, the Shufflin’ Dupree’s LB & the Highvolts, and Craig Olson!

Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased online here.

Proceeds from this event help programs that the American Legion Post 417 supports such as providing local military families with emergency financial assistance, contributing funding to accredited PTSD programs, supporting worthy youth programs such as American Legion Baseball, High School Oratorical Contest, Badger Boys and Girls States, and college scholarships; rendering military funeral honors to fallen comrades; and promoting Americanism with Color Guards at area parades and other events.

MONDAY – BEE SCHOOL @ ECKER’S APPLE FARM

Bee School at Ecker’s Apple Farm runs all weekend with honey tastings, live music, apple picking, drinks, food, & more!

On Monday, you can enjoy Orchard Yoga with Sarah from 11am until noon for just $5. Tommy Babs will be at the orchard with the Woodshed wood-fired pizza truck starting at noon, and you can enjoy live music from the Risch Family Band from 1pm until 3pm.
