Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend.

Looking at temps in the upper 40’s all weekend, maybe creeping into the low 50’s next week.

I’m still hoping to get a nice, hard rain to wash some of the dirt & funk off the road before getting on the Harley, but that time is coming.

This weekend, I think the wife & I are going to venture out of town on Friday night for a fish fry at a supper club somewhere, then hit up the La Crosse Area Builders Association Home Show at the Omni Center on Saturday. Not sure what we’ll be up to on Sunday, but I’m sure we’ll be watching NCAA basketball somewhere.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend in the area, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – FISH FRY @ MARY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCH PARISH FROM 4-7PM

While we’re looking to get out of town for a fish fry at a supper club, you can stay in La Crosse for this one!

Mary, Mother of the Church Parish will be holding a fish fry on Friday from 4pm until 7pm with dine-in or carry-out options.

It’s just $12 for a 2-piece dinner, and $14 for a 3-piece dinner that includes baked or batter fried cod, baked potato or fries, coleslaw and roll.

Kids meals are just $5 and includes a grilled cheese sandwich, fries, fruit and milk.

Beer, wine and desserts available at dine-in for additional cost.

SATURDAY – SAL BRAT & PORK CHOP SANDWICH SALE @ THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 51 IN WEST SALEM FROM 11AM UNTIL 2PM

The Sons of the American Legion in West Salem will be cooking up brats & pork chops for a fundraiser to help straighten the pillars at The Court of Honor at the American Legion Post 51 in West Salem.

The brat/pork chop sandwich sale starts at 11am and goes until 2pm or gone, whichever happens first.

SATURDAY – THE 2023 COULEE HOOLIE CEILI @ THE LA CROSSE AMERICAN LEGION FROM 6-10PM

St. Paddy’s Day was last week, but nothing wrong with keeping the Irish fun going thanks to the Coulee Hoolie Ceili at the La Crosse American Legion this Saturday night thanks to the La Crosse Bantry Friendship Association!

Enjoy Irish music, dancing, food, & more from 6pm until 10pm. Tickets for this event are just $10 for adults, or $8 for seniors/students/military, and $20 for a family.

Live music from the Coulee Hooligans, and storyteller Terry Visger will share Irish tales during the event.

There will also be a silent auction with all sorts of goodie from some great, local businesses to bid on!

Proceeds from this event will go to two horse therapy organizations, HorseSense Inc., here in La Crosse, and Hairy Henry Care Farm in Bantry.

SUNDAY – HOLMEN AREA FOUNDATION BINGO @ DRUGAN’S CASTLE MOUND FROM 1-3PM

Seems like everybody & their grandmother is playing Bingo lately! So grab your dobbers & head to Drugan’s Castle Mound this Sunday for a Bingo fundraiser by the Holmen Area Foundation.

Just $15 at the door & you’ll be able to play 10 games of BINGO. You are able to buy more than one board if you wish! Enjoy a couple of beers, grab a bite to eat, and try to win some money!
