Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend.

Last weekend, my plans were dashed by a sinus problem….thankfully, I feel much better this weekend & I’m looking forward to our sold-out beer bus to Iowa on Saturday! We’ll be hitting up Pivo Brewery, Pulpit Rock Brewing, and Toppling Goliath!

If you didn’t get tickets for this bus trip, no worries. We’re taking another beer bus to the Minnesota Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, April 1st! And there’s plenty of spots left. So get your tickets here before they’re gone!

If you’re going to be hanging around town this weekend & you’re unsure what to do with your time, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – FRIDAY NIGHT COMEDY @ THE MAIN – AN EVENT SPACE

It’s another Friday night comedy show at the Main – an Event Space in downtown La Crosse! Plenty of time to get home, get changed, and get downtown for a bite to eat before doors open at 7pm at the Main.

Comedy starts at 8pm, and tickets are just $10 at the door. Get there EARLY for preferred seating! This week, you’ve got Geoff LaFleur and Elise Cole!

Geoff has performed at colleges, festivals, private parties and many top comedy clubs across the country from the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles to Zanies in Chicago to the Improv in Washington D.C., and he’s opened for Dave Chappelle, Larry the Cable Guy, Brian Regan, Pauly Shore, Jay Mohr, Gilbert Gottfried, Bobcat Goldthwaite, and many more.

SATURDAY – 25TH ANNUAL POLAR PLUNGE @ BLACK RIVER BEACH

The longest running Polar Plunge in the state of Wisconsin is right here in La Crosse! This will be the 25th Annual Polar Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics of WI.

You can still register. You can still donate. You can still support! And if you’re not interested in jumping into the frigid water, you can plunge virtually!

If you’re planning on coming to the Plunge as a spectator, make sure you get dropped off by someone, or take the shuttle bus that will be picking up in front of John’s Bar in downtown La Crosse throughout the day!

Registration begins bright and early at 8:30am and continues until 10:30. Opening ceremonies begin at 11am and then it’s TIME TO TAKE THE PLUNGE!!

SUNDAY – TREMPEALEAU FIRE DEPARTMENT CHICKEN Q

Yeah, racing smoker season is here….and so is CHICKEN-Q season!!!!!

This week, the Trempealeau Fire Department is cooking the Q on Sunday…starting at 9am until gone!

Each dinner is $10 and includes a 1/2 Gold’N Plump chicken, potato salad, corn, a dinner roll & a pickle. If chicken isn’t your thing, then grab a brat dinner for just $5.

Proceeds will be used to purchase firefighter turnout gear. Which helps to keep firefighters safe during structure fires, car accidents, and all other requests for assistance.
