Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend!

I was “………………this…………………..” close to taking the Harley out this week. If only the roads were a bit cleaner!

So much salt & sand still lingering, even as the temps increased to the mid-40’s this week. Thankfully, it’ll be back in the 40’s this weekend, so if you’ve got outdoor plans, it won’t be too cold!

Most of my plans involve being indoors this weekend, but I might crack a window or two in the house to get some fresh air.

Here’s a few suggestions if you’re looking for something to do this weekend:

FRIDAY – FRIDAY NIGHT COMEDY @ THE MAIN – AN EVENT SPACE

Two great comedians. One low price!

Doors open at 7pm at the Main – An Event Space in downtown La Crosse, and comedy starts at about 8pm. Tickets are just $10 in advance(buy them here), or get them at the door if there’s any left.

This week, you’ve got Kevin Cahak, who travels across the country performing at venues from theaters, casinos, comedy clubs and corporate events to breweries, county fairs and small town bars. He can be seen on Showtime appearing on “Pauly Shore Stands Alone” and his comedy album “When in Rome…” can be heard on Spotify, Pandora as well as any other streaming platform.

You’ve also got James Stanley, from Woodbury, Minnesota…where he started doing stand up comedy at the very young age of 16. James now preforms all around the Midwest and was a semi-finalist in Funniest Person with a Day Job contest and works regularly as a comedian at Acme Comedy Company and Laugh Camp Comedy. James has been featured in the yearly write up for 2021 Comics to Watch MN.

SATURDAY – 24TH ANNUAL “MASQUERADE” WINTER BALL @ THE PEARL ST. BREWERY

It’s one of my favorite events of the year! Music, food, beers, and people!

This year’s Winter Ball at the Pearl St. Brewery has a “masquerade” theme, which seems very appropriate with Mardi Gras right around the corner.

Tickets are just $25(buy them here) and include special releases of new, one-off beers, wine spritzers, sparkling wines, and hard cider mixers along with a lineup of award-winning Pearl Street Brewery beers.

Food will be available for purchase.

Plus, live music from Porky’s Groove Machine out of Minneapolis, and headlining the main stage, Nicholas David! He was a finalist on the 2nd season of “The Voice”, and he’ll be tapping some Madri-Gras themed tunes and featuring Mark Joseph & The American Soul.

SUNDAY – CHLOE KAY ECKELBERG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER @ FEATURES WEST SALEM

The Daytona 500 is on Sunday, and while you’re enjoying the race, why not help out a great, local charity!

Come and watch the Daytona 500 at Features Sports Bar West Salem on Sunday, February 19th & help raise money for the Chloe Kay Eckelberg Memorial Scholarship!

Get to Features early for a driver auction, and sign up to win tickets for the Bristol Motor Speedway! There will also be tip boards, a silent auction, free food & beer during the race(for a donation), and all proceeds will benefit the Chloe Kay Eckelberg Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to students attending a university or technical school the following school year and involved in the racing community at La Crosse Speedway in West Salem.

As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening in our area this weekend, and you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com
