Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend.

Now that Oktoberfest has come & gone, it’s time to get spooky! Halloween is right around the corner and I’m definitely feeling it this year.

Got all the decorations up, watching ALL the scary movies, and getting ready for trick-or-treaters to stop by with their costumes! But, there’s still plenty of stuff happening in the area before we get to Halloween, and here’s a few suggestions for this weekend:

FRIDAY – TASTE OF DOWNTOWN LA CROSSE FROM 4-7PM @ THE CARGILL ROOM

This ticketed event is an annual fundraiser for Downtown Mainstreet and takes place in the Cargill Room at the Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern.

You can expect culinary delights from local restaurants, specialty cocktails, live music, & more!

Tickets are just $35 for GA or $50 for VIP and can be purchased online here.

SATURDAY – THE 11TH ANNUAL FIREHOUSE 5K @ THE ONALASKA FIRE DEPT.

This great event helps raise awareness for an active and healthy lifestyle while at the same time raising funds for a great cause.

A portion of the proceeds will help support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Onalaska Firefighters‘ Association.

Registration on the day of the event begins at 7am is just $25 for adults, and $15 for youths. The 5k begins at 8am. There will be food & refreshments available, various prizes & awards, and all participants will receive a t-shirt! Sign up online here.

SATURDAY – THE 53RD OKTOBERFEST RACE WEEKEND @ THE LA CROSSE FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY

The Oktoberfest racing begins on Thursday and runs all weekend, but on Saturday October 8th, a Big 8 Late Model Series champion will be crowned at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway!

The Oktoberfest format includes a unique combination of Qualifying Features and B Mains to set up a 38 lap sprint to the championship that has included several dramatic finishes in recent years.

There’s also live music in the exhibition hall, food, drinks, a memorabilia show & so much more!

Find a full schedule of events here, and buy your tickets online here.

SUNDAY – RIDE WITH THE OWNERS @ GREAT RIVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON

Ride with the owners returns!

Come hang out with the whole Great River Harley-Davidson crew for a Sunday ride to Saxon Hall Pizza in Brownsville.

Sign In is at 10:00 at Great River Harley-Davidson, kickstands up at 11am.

We will be taking the scenic route and plan on ending up at Saxon Hall a little after noon! Find more info here.

As always, there’s plenty of other events happening in our area this weekend, and you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com.

And if you’ve got an event coming up that you’d like to see featured on AroundRiverCity.com, you can submit it for free here.
