The heating bill.
I don’t mind the cold. I don’t mind the snow. Ice isn’t even all that bad.
But the heating bill going sky-high is by far the worse thing for yours truly.
Luckily, when we moved last year into our new house, the better windows, insulation, and newer furnace have helped keep it from being too outrageous.
The second worse thing about winter is assholes who don’t take two frigging minutes to clean their cars off properly.
You are not that important. Clean the damn snow & ice off your effing car before you kill somebody. In NH, they have “Jessica’s Law“, which requires drivers to remove the snow & ice from their car, so when I moved here, it was a bit of a culture shock.
As a lifelong psoriasis sufferer, the cold, dry winter air is my third most hated thing about winter. The trail of skin flakes around the house is downright disgusting, and no amount of lotion helps.
A recent survey asked people to name the top things they hate about winter and the top ten are:
- The days are too short
- Not enough sunshine
- Scraping ice off your windshield
- Your heating bills go up
- It seems like you are always cold
- Waking up in the dark & coming home in the dark
- Dry skin & chapped lips
- Having to do all your chores inside
- Falling, slipping & sliding on ice
- When you have to get out of your warm, comfy bed in the morning.
