Top “time-travel” movies.

Rolling Stone created a list of the 20 best time-travel movies of all time, and I don’t understand how “Back to the Future” isn’t number one.

It’s in the top five, but seriously!

Needless to say, it’s nice to see “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” make the list at #14. Any movie where you get a time-traveling phone booth from George Carlin has GOT to be on the list.

Number 12 on the list is kind of bogus, because it’s not technically a movie about time-travel, but there’s a scene at the end of “Galaxy Quest” with the Omega 13 that involves a bit of time travel. Not saying I don’t liek the film, but I wouldn’t put the movie on the list.

“Looper” was a really good movie with Bruce Willis & Joseph Gordon-Levitt and it makes the list at #6.

A few big ones that I think EVERYONE associates with time travel make the top five, including “Back to the Future” and “T2”, but I wouldn’t really consider “Groundhog Day” a movie about time travel.

Sure, Bill Murray gets caught in a loop, but does he really get to go back & correct previous mistakes? Or go forward and see what’s waiting for him in the future? Much like my feelings about “Galaxy Quest”, I love the film, but wouldn’t put it on a list of movies about time-travel.

If that was truly time travel, then the Tom Cruise movie “Edge of Tomorrow” would certainly qualify.

Other movies that didn’t make the list include “Dr. Strange”, “X-Men:Days of Future Past”, “TimeCop”(JCVD at his BEST!), and “Predestination” starring Ethan Hawke(just to name a few).

Needless to say, you can see the entire Rolling Stone list here.
