Owen Hart Should Be In The WWE Hall Of Fame
The 2026 WWE Hall of Fame inductees are in. This year, they’ll be welcoming Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, Sid Vicious, Demolition, and more to the gallery of greatness. I’m not going to argue with any of the names on the list, but there is one name not in the HOF that needs to be there.
Owen Hart.
Now, it’s to my understanding that part of the reason he isn’t in there is due to Owen’s widow, Martha Hart. She has her reasons, and I really want to respect them. But come on. I feel like someone deserving of a Hall of Fame induction shouldn’t be held from being included. I understand the legal dispute was taxing on her mental state at that time, and she feels the WWE is responsible for the circumstances involving his death. Whether that’s true or not, pretty much all of the people involved with those circumstances are no longer with the company. Can we at least try to start moving the relationship to a more positive place for the sake of the fans who loved him?
Owen’s death in 1999 is a haunting moment that no fan who lived through it will ever forget. It changed how we all view the business we love, and the superstars who make us love it. But his death isn’t the only reason he should be in the HOF. There’s much more.
He’s a King of the Ring winner, a 5 time Intercontinental Champion, 2 time Tag Team Champion, and European Champion. Outside of tangible accomplishments like championships, he was one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time, with a host of incredible matches against opponents like Brett Hart and Shawn Michaels.
Though the company didn’t always give him the respect he deserved with poor booking decisions and other mistakes I could mention, the fans always loved him regardless. It’s for the sake of us fans who truly loved his work, and were deeply hurt by his untimely passing, that I beg for Owen’s inclusion in the Hall of Fame.
