Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
Dude. We’re looking at temps near 70° on Monday. Granted, it’s supposed to dip back down to 32° on Wednesday….but still!
I believe that’s false spring #2 for the Coulee Region…which means one more snowfall at some point in the next two weeks and then we’re officially onto vernal equinox!
Not exactly sure what I’ll be doing this weekend, but hopefully it’s something outdoors. If you’re looking for something to do in the region, here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY – DEREK RAMNARACE & FRIENDS @ THE TREMPEALEAU HOTEL
Our good friend Derek Ramnarace is making a stop at the historic Trempealeau Hotel on Friday night for a performance with some of his extremely talented friends.
Derek has an extensive catalogue with his previous bands, including Hooch, The Soapbox Project, and his current band, Old Soul Society!
I’m sure they’ll be playing plenty of his most well-known songs along with some previously unreleased tunes.
The show at the Trempealeau Hotel starts at 7pm and there’s an $8 cover at the door. You can find more info on this event here.
SATURDAY – 28TH ANNUAL POLAR PLUNGE @ BLACK RIVER BEACH
The 28th Annual Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics of Wisconsin is this Saturday morning at Black River Beach in La Crosse!
This is the oldest plunge in the state and it’s also the Special Olympics‘ largest fundraiser.
There’s still time to register for the plunge, and there’s also plenty of opportunities to be a Polar Pledger if you don’t want to jump into the icy waters of the Mississippi River!
The day gets started at 8:30am with the return of the FREE shuttle bus from John’s Bar! Parking on the North Side can be tricky, so take the bus! Check-in & day-of registration begins at Black River Beach at 8:30am until 10:30am, followed by the Opening Ceremonies & the start of the plunging at 11am.

SUNDAY – WEDDING WORLD @ THE LA CROSSE CENTER
