Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
Last weekend was wildly busy! We went to the wrestling show on Friday night. Then we hit up the boat & RV show on Saturday morning, followed by a stop at the Winter Roots Festival. Had a nice Valentine’s dinner on Saturday night, and emceed an event on Sunday afternoon before watching the Daytona 500.
Not sure what we’re up to this weekend, but it’ll likely be inside with the weather cooling off again.
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend in the Coulee Region, here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY & SATURDAY – THE LA CROSSE GUN SHOW AT ALL-STAR LANES
You don’t need a tank top for a “ticket to the gun show”. You just need to get to All-Star Lanes on La Crosse’s southside on Friday & Saturday for the Bearing Arms Gun Show!
The show runs from 3pm until 8pm on Friday, and from 9am until 4pm on Saturday. All Federal & local firearm laws and ordinances must be obeyed.
It’ll cost $5 per person at the door to attend, and anyone under the age of 14 gets in free.

SATURDAY – THE ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF @ GREAT RIVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON
With the colder weather creeping back into the area this weekend, why not warm up with some chili at Great River Harley-Davidson???
It’s their annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday starting at 11am!
If you’ve got a great chili that you’d like to put on the roster, call Great River HD at 608-783-6112 to see if they have any spots left!
All are welcome to come to the store, try the chili, assist with the judging, and meet with the Great River staff. Also, make sure you stick around for the crowning of the cook-off winner at 1:45pm.

SATURDAY NIGHT – GERMAN DINNER @ THE ROY L. VINGERS AMERICAN LEGION POST 52
Nothing wrong with Oktoberfest all year long! If you’ve been missing traditional German food, then make plans to get to the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52 in La Crosse this Saturday night for their German dinner!
Tickets are limited and can be purchased in advance at the bar. If there’s any left, you can get one at the door.
For just $17 per person, you get Jaeger schnitzel, Vienna schnitzel, bratkartoffeln, German potato salad, onions in sweet & sour sauce, sweet & sour red cabbage, and spatzle!
