The Monday Morning Throwback – Our interview with John Steers
November 27, 2023/
Back in 2012, kick-ass Rock listener, John Steers, stopped by the studio as we were winding down our Movember to talk about his battle with prostate cancer.
John was the La Crosse County Chief Medical Examiner at the time, an avid motorcycle rider, and one of the funniest guys you could know.
Sadly, John passed away on February 24th of 2014, but his story & message is important! Men need to get checked regularly for prostate cancer! Early detection is the key to fighting back against this terrible disease.
John shared some stats about prostate cancer in 2012, and here’s a few bits of info about it in 2023:
- 288,300 new cases of prostate cancer are expected to be diagnosed in 2023
- A man is diagnosed with prostate cancer every 2 minutes
