Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
BIG weekend coming up. My Patriots are back in the Super Bowl and looking for trophy number seven. Tough test on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks in a rematch of Super Bowl 49 from 2014(which the Pats won).
That’s where all my focus is this weekend. We’ve got some fresh seafood being delivered on Friday for a lobster dinner just before the game, and hopefully we’ll be popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate!
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you’re in luck! There’s a lot going on, and here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY & SATURDAY – THE 103RD ANNUAL SNOWFLAKE SKI JUMPING TOURNAMENT AT THE WESTBY SKI JUMP
It’s a massive party with people on skis!
The 103rd Annual Snowflake Ski Jumping Tournament is this Friday & Saturday at the Snowflake Ski Club. This international event celebrates ski jumping on 5 hills over 2 days. The large hill competition, which is Olympic size, will take place on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Saturday morning features junior athletes from across the nation competing our newly updated junior ski jumping complex.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Tickets gain access to both days of the event. Attendees can enjoy bonfires, world class tailgating, food and drink vendors, and live music following the day’s events.
On Friday, they’ve got a kick-off breakfast at the Stockyard in Coon Valley, and after the jumps on Friday night, you can enjoy live music from High Mileage in the Rod & Gun Banquet Hall! There’s also activities for the kids.

SATURDAY – TUGG @ THE HISTORIC TEMPLE THEATER IN VIROQUA
For 25 years, TUGG has been performing on small-town stages throughout the Midwest & on some of the biggest stages at major music festivals all over the USA.
And after a quarter century of tearing it up with plenty of ska & reggae, it’s time for Jake to lay the bass down as he focuses on the newest adventures in his life – a successful restaurant, and a baby on the way!
TUGG will continue on, but this will be Jake’s final performance with the band, so make plans to get to the historic Temple Theater in Viroqua this Saturday night!

SUNDAY – CUSTOMER APPRECIATION & SUPER BOWL PARTY @ THE MIRAGE SPORTS BAR
The big game is on Sunday and if you want to pre-game it, head to the Southside & stop by the Mirage Sports Bar!
They are having their Customer Appreciation Celebration on Sunday starting a t11am with food, drinks, & prizes. And then the Super Bowl watch party starts at 5:30pm!
This party is free & open to the public, so make sure you get to the Mirage for all the fun!
