Three Things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
Glad I got the Christmas lights up earlier this week when the weather was more cooperative. Going to be much colder this weekend with a high of just 42° on Saturday, and even colder on Sunday with a high of just 34° expected!
Number one thing I’m doing this weekend is finally turning the heat on. I held off as long as I could, but the wife is really starting to complain about the temps in the house and I’m going to have to cave.
Thankfully, if you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, there’s plenty of stuff happening INDOORS to keep you warm…and here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY & SATURDAY – PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BULL RIDERS @ THE LA CROSSE CENTER
You know the deal! Guys and gals with big-ass cowboy hats & belt buckles…plenty of dirt…and REALLY big & angry bulls thrashing this way & that!
It’s the Professional Championship Bull Riders & barrel racers at the La Crosse Center on Friday & Saturday nights for plenty of non-stop rodeo action.
Doors for both nights open at 6pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets for the Professional Championship Bull Riders are available online here, or grab yours at the La Crosse Center box office! Don’t forget, the first 300 kids in the arena each night get a free cowboy hat.

SATURDAY – 12TH ANNUAL PAWS AT THE PUB @ ALL STAR LANES
Dog lovers unite! It’s the 12th Annual “Paws At The Pub” fundraising event for New Leash on Life this Saturday evening from 6pm until 10pm at All Star Lanes in La Crosse!
New Leash on Life Dog Rescue is a foster based dog rescue based out of the La Crosse. They work with local shelters, take local owner surrenders, as well as rescue dogs from high kill shelters in other states.
They are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is run completely by volunteers and operate solely on adoption fees and donations, so events like this are extremely important!
So much happening at this wonderful event, including live music from the Executives, a live auction, raffles, silent auction items, a cash bar, food from the Breakfast Club & Pub, applications for fostering & adoption, and much more!
Tickets are just $10 at the door per person or bring the whole family & get in for just $25!

SATURDAY NIGHT – THE MATT MAHLUM BAND @ THE POPCORN TAVERN
Enjoying live music performed by extremely talented musicians is a GREAT way to spend a Saturday night!
Put an ice-cold beverage in my hand & it only gets better!
Get your ass downtown to the Popcorn Tavern on Saturday night to check out the Matt Mahlum Band. They’ll hit the stage at 7pm for soulful blues-driver rock & roll!
