Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
After spending last weekend at Rock Fest, I’m actually looking forward to getting back to reality this weekend!
Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy my time in Cadott every year, but my liver needs a break. And I’m still trying to get caught up on sleep!
This weekend, I’ll be busy with Rock Stops & a few other work-related events. If your calendar is open and you’re looking for something to do, here’s a few events:
FRIDAY & SATURDAY – CHEECH’S DEECEFEST @ BLUEBIRD CAMPGROUND

The sixth annual installment of Cheech’s Deecefest is actually this Thursday through Saturday at Bluebird Campground, with Thursday night being the brand new “local night” sponsored by the Recovery Room Sports Pub & Grill.
Other performers include Gregg Hall & the Wrecking Ball, The Smokin Bandits, The Pistol Whippin’ Party Penguins, The La Crosse Confluence, Javier Trejo, and MANY more!
Three-day passes for DeeceFest are $75, Thursday “Local Night” tickets are just $25, and single-day tickets for Friday and Saturday are $40 each. You can buy your tickets in person at Tree Huggers Co-op(North & South), Cannabiz Depot(Downtown), Deaf Ear Records, Instrument Repair La Crosse, or The Recovery Room., or grab them online here. As for camping, sites are limited, so grab yours ASAP here.
Kids 10 & Under are FREE when accompanied by an adult.

SATURDAY – 23RD ANNUAL CHAD ERICKSON MEMORIAL THUNDER RIDE FOR JUVENILE DIABETES @ ROD’S RIDE-ON POWERSPORTS

An incredible ride through the Coulee Region for an amazing organization!
It’s the 23rd annual Chad Erickson Memorial Thunder Ride for juvenile diabetes this Saturday. I’ll be at Rod’s Ride-On Powersports in the morning to help emcee the event.
Check-in/registration starts at 9am with kickstands up at 10:30am. Motorcycles, trikes, classic cars, convertibles & more are all welcome to join! You can register in advance online here, or sign up the day of the ride at Rod’s.
The Thunder Ride is a 501(c)3 charitable organization serving local children and families in their daily battle against juvenile diabetes. All proceeds stay local and are donated the to Gundersen Memorial Foundation and Mayo Health System for T1D Care.
There will be raffles, prizes, a silent auction, and more throughout the whole day!
And if you can’t make the ride but still want to participate, the post-ride party is at Schwertel Family Farms with live music, food, drinks, and more!

SUNDAY – SUNDAY FUNDAY @ THE ALPINE INN WITH BRYCE THOMASCHEFSKY

On Sunday, get your duff up the bluff to the Alpine Inn for bottomless mimosas, great food, and the very talented Bryce Thomaschefsky!
Bryce starts at 1pm and there’s no cover charge! Get to the Alpine Inn early to grab a good seat and try one of their incredible burgers!
