Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend
Holy crap am I busy all of the sudden! It’s like the calendar turns to June and BAM! I’ve got shit to do almost every day of the week.
How am I going to get a nap in with all of these events?
Lots going on this weekend for me, with Rock Stops on Friday & Saturday…plus, “Rockin’ the Races” on Saturday night with some listeners, and a Logger game on Sunday afternoon. Thankfully, the weather looks like it’s going to cooperate all weekend.
If you’re looking to get out & do something over the next few days, here’s a couple of suggestions:
FRIDAY – ROCK STOP AT RIVER VALLEY REMODELERS IN WEST SALEM FROM 4:30PM UNTIL 6:05PM
As I mentioned above, Rock Stops all this week for me…including this afternoon’s at the new River Valley Remodelers location in West Salem on County M, just behind Features.
I’ll be there with the bike from 4:30pm until 6:05pm for your next chance to qualify & win! This year’s bike is a 2025 Harley-Davidson Low Rider S with all sorts of custom parts.

SATURDAY – REMI’S RALLY POKER RIDE @ THE TIME OUT TAVERN IN LA CRESCENT
A great day for a great ride! Get to the TimeOut Tavern in La Crescent on Saturday morning for this year’s Remi’s Rally!
Rally for Remi Inc is a nonprofit organization raising awareness of Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome.
Registration starts at 9am and it’s just $15 per person. Kickstands up at 10am sharp, and all modes of transportation are welcome. So, if you don’t ride a motorcycle, you can still show up & participate!
Stops at JT’s Corner Bar in Houston, the Witoka Tavern, Risers Pub in Stockton, George’s Bar in Fountain City, Boondocks in Galesville, and ending at Petticoat Junction on Brice Prairie.
The ride will be a 50/50 payout will have cash boards along with a couple of gun raffles.

SATURDAY NIGHT – AUTOGRAPH NIGHT @ THE LA CROSSE FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY
Gonna be sitting in turn one on the party deck with some kick-ass Rock listeners for this one and the forecast is absolutely perfect for a night of racing action at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway!
Gates at the Speedway open up at 5:15pm with Late models, Sportsmen, Hornets, the Street Stocks, and the Tag Team novelty race!
The first 500 fans through the gates at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway will get a free 2025 driver poster, and make sure you get to the track early and collect autographs from all your favorite drivers!
Gates at 5:15pm, qualifying at 5:30pm, and the action gets underway at 7pm.
Tickets are just $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, students from 12-17 years old get in for just $8, kids ages 6-11 are only $4, and anyone under age 5 gets in for free! You can buy tickets at the gate or buy them online here.

6/8 – SUNDAY – ROCK & ROLL TRIVIA @ HOWIE’S
Look…I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t normally go out on Sunday nights. This week, I’ll be at the Logger game for a bit, but we usually leave by the end of the 3rd or 4th inning, so I can get to bed at a decent time.(1am comes quick!)
But some QuizMaster rock & roll trivia would definitely get me out of the house on a Sunday night!
Head to Howie’s On La Crosse and show off that big brain of yours this weekend for your shot at all sorts of prizes.
Seven total rounds, including a couple of wager categories…a picture category…and a rapid lightning round! Prizes for 1st & 2nd place, and for the team with the “Most Rockin’ Name”.
Trivia starts at 7pm and it’s totally free to play, but tips for your QuizMaster are appreciated.
Arrive early to Howie’s to get a good table and try one of their signature burgers(my personal favorite is the Rodeo Ranch).
