Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
An absolutely gorgeous weekend ahead with plenty of sun, temps in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s, and not much on the calendar for yours truly.
After spending a ton of money in Nashville last week, I think the wife & I are going to chill at home the next few days and get caught up on sleep! Definitely going to take the bike out at some point and go somewhere…and a fire pit is almost a certainty.
If you’re looking to get out & do something this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:
FRIDAY & SATURDAY – MIDWEST MUSIC FEST IN WINONA, MN
The Mid West Music Fest has been around for fifteen years, featuring regional acts from all genres of music…and this year they are once again rocking several different venues in Winona with over 45 bands!
This year’s line up includes Charlie Parr, Gully Boys, Humbird, Nur-D, the People Brothers Band, Mae Simpson, Kiss the Tiger, Laamar, Sleeping Jesus, the Nunnery, and MANY more.
Discover new music, see some of your favorites, and help promote music and art in the region! Plus, enjoy the makers market, do some yoga, check out the skateboarding demo, and more.

SATURDAY – 5TH ANNUAL PORK IN THE PARK @ GAYLORD PARK IN ROCKLAND, WI
The 5th Annual “Pork in the Park” goes down at Gaylord Park in Rockland to benefit the Bangor/Burns Fire Department.
Things get underway at 9:30am with a car show, a UTV/ATV ride, raffles, activities for the kids including a bounce house, live music from Steve Lambert, food, drinks, and much more.
Enjoy a grilled pork chop dinner, get into the “2nd Amendment” drawing, bring you motorcycle or car down & enter it into the contest. Fill the Boot…and plenty of family fun!

SUNDAY – MOTHER’S DAY
Look…this one should be pretty obvious.
Sunday is Mother’s Day and there’s a bazillion brunches and bottomless mimosas happening throughout the Coulee Region this weekend.(check out AroundRiverCity.com for a bunch of these events).
Wherever you go or whatever you’ve got planned…make sure that you do something fantastic for your amazing Mom to thank her for all the love, care, & support she’s given to you over the years.
Buy her a card. Maybe some flowers. Take her out to a nice meal. Get her a “spa day” gift card. Just make sure you don’t half-ass it like the rest of your life. Go above & beyond for your Mom this weekend.
