Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.
A few more miserable days ahead with clouds and high temps hovering around 50°, but looking ahead to next Wednesday…it seems like we’re going to creep into the mid-60’s and stay there for the rest of April!
Finally going to be able to ride the Harley on a daily basis!
Not sure what we’ll be doing this weekend. Might go see Pat McCurdy at the Showboat Saloon on Saturday night. Not really sure.

FRIDAY – ABLE, INC. FUN NIGHT @ THE LA CRESCENT AREA EVENT CENTER

A great, local organization is having a “Fun Night” of food, drinks & games at the La Crescent Area Event Center on Friday night from 6pm until 10pm!
Join ABLE Inc. on the MN side of the river as they raise money to support their mission to offer living and learning opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities.
ABLE Inc. has been providing residential care to people with developmental disabilities in Southeast Minnesota for 45 years!
Tickets for their “Fun Night” are available online here, or at the door, and are $25 per person. Ticket includes dinner, keg beer, and/or non-alcoholic beverages . There will also be casino-style games, basket raffles, a 50/50 raffle, and many more games!

SATURDAY – ROTARY IFEED COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE @ LOGAN HIGH SCHOOL

This event is a great way to help fight hunger in our community and it’s also wonderful to see a bunch of area high school Rotary Interact clubs working together!
Interact Clubs from Aquinas, Caledonia, Central, Holmen, Logan, Onalaska & West Salem have been at this since 2015 and this year, you can help out with their drive-thru food drive at Logan High School from 8am until noon.
The students will then take those donations and put them together for local community food banks.
Items needed include :
Peanut Butter
Canned fruits in juice
Canned meat
Beans (baked, pork & beans, black beans)
Pasta sauce
Pasta (whole wheat please)
Rice (brown preferred)
Cereal, oatmeal, or pancake mixes
Canned soups
Shampoo & bar soaps
Diapers & baby wipes
Laundry soap
Pet food
Kwik Trip gift cards

SATURDAY NIGHT – THE DWEEBS @ WHISKEY RIVER BAR & GRILL

An absolute BLAST! That’s the best way to describe a Dweebs show…and this Saturday night, they will be performing live at Whiskey River Bar & Grill in West Salem!
Show starts at 8pm & there’s NO COVER!!!! But make sure you get to Whiskey River early to secure your spot, enjoy a few ice-cold beverages, and check out their delicious menu full of incredible food!
The Dweebs feature colorful costumes, crazy stage antics, and lots of crowd participation along with your favorite hits from the 1960’s to today’s most popular tunes.

SUNDAY – FIRST RESPONDER DRIVE-THRU CHICKEN Q @ THE TREMPEALEAU FIRE DEPARTMENT

ChickenQ season is in full swing and this time around, you can cruise up the river road on Sunday for some delicious Q at the Trempealeau Fire Department!
This event starts bright & early at 9am and goes until they run out of chicken!! It’s $10 for a dinner that includes 1/2 a chicken, potato salad, corn, a dinner roll, & a pickle spear!
Brat dinners will also be available if you prefer for only $5.
Proceeds from this annual event are used to purchase First Responder turn-out gear(PPE) and medical supplies for the Trempealeau Fire Department.
