Three things to do in & Around River City this weekend.

I have felt like absolute hammered dog shit all week.

I even had to skip the Breaking Benjamin & Daughtry show at the Center on Tuesday night because I’ve been so sick.

And because of that, I have absolutely ZERO plans to go anywhere or do anything this weekend. My only plans are to nap, eat soup, and sit in my massage chair.

Hopefully, by Monday, I’ll be back to feeling like a human being again.

If you’re feeling good & looking to do something this weekend, you’re in luck! There is plenty of stuff happening in the area and here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – CABIN FEVER FRENZY @ THE ONALASKA OMNI CENTER

This is actually a two-night event at the Onalaska Omni Center featuring some great live music, drinks, food, dancing, & fun!

The weather this week has certainly made it feel like winter is back, and if it’s got you feeling down, then this event should help to break out of those doldrums!

Tickets are just $10 per night to attend the Cabin Fever Frenzy at the Omni Center. You can buy them in advance here, or get them at the door.

Friday night, they’ve got JR Junior from One Accord & The Dweebs!

And on Saturday night, live music continues from Bryce Thomaschefsky and Mason Dixon Line.

And don’t miss the official after-party at Crossroads Bar & Grill in Onalaska! Find more info on this event here.

SATURDAY – BREAKFAST BINGO @ THE MIRAGE SPORTS BAR & GRILL

Gotta be honest…if I feel well enough on Saturday morning, a bloody & some breakfast pizza might be just what the doctor ordered!

Get to the South-side on Saturday morning for breakfast & bingo at the Mirage Sports Bar & Grill. Their breakfast pizza is made with Naan bread on their smoker & is just $12!

Doors open at 9:30am with breakfast & bingo starting at 10am. Win some prizes, enjoy a few drinks, grab a breakfast pizza & start you day off right at the Mirage!

Find more info on this event here.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON – CHICKEN Q @ THE FRENCH ISLAND AMERICAN LEGION POST 417

It’s Chicken-Q season, and this week’s Q is at the American Legion Post 417 on French Island on Saturday afternoon from 4-7pm(or gone).

For just $12, you can enjoy a 1/2 chicken, baked beans, some cole slaw, & a dinner roll! Get there early & grab a drink…bar opens at 2pm! Stick around for the meat raffle that begins at 4pm!

Find out more about this event here.

SUNDAY – WHEN THE SKY TURNS DARK @ THE LA CROSSE PUBLIC LIBRARY

The eclipse is coming on Monday! As Frankie MacDonald would say, “BE PREPARED”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The La Crosse Public Library is hosting UW-Madison speaker Jonathan Rebelsky, an Analytical Chemistry PhD Candidate in the Department of Chemistry, to talk about the upcoming solar eclipse & to help you better understand how, why, & when eclipses happen.

This event starts at 2pm on Sunday and is free! And thanks to a grant from STAR NET Community, free eclipse-viewing glasses will be available! You can register in advance for this discussion, and walk-ins are also welcome.

Find out more about this event here.

As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening in our area this weekend and you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com

And if you’ve got an event coming up that you’d like to see featured on AroundRiverCity.com, you can submit it for free here.
