Three things to do in & around River City this weekend.

After an EXTREMELY mile week, temps are going to slip back into the 30’s & 40’s this weekend, but I have plans to watch a LOT of TV, including the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Was nice to get out on the Harley this week, though. Hopefully, this nicer weather is a sign that Spring really is right around the corner!

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – RIVER CITY CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING PRESENTS “BROKEN HARTS & BROKEN BONES VIII” @ THE ROY L. VINGERS AMERICAN LEGION

Ringside seats for this event have SOLD OUT! But you can still purchase GA tickets by clicking here.

River City Championship Wrestling has brought in several wrestling legends over the years including “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair & Eric Bischoff, and at this Friday’s “Broken Harts & Broken Bones VIII” event, they’ve got the one & only, WWE Hall of Famer, Jimmy “The Mouth of the South” Hart!!!

Doors at the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post #52 open at 5pm and the wrestling gets underway at 7pm. Six HUGE matches are scheduled, and Jimmy Hart will be signing autographs & taking pictures with fans for an additional fee, with the proceeds going to 95.7 The Rock’s Rock Foundation!

SATURDAY – THE LA CROSSE SPORT SHOW @ THE LA CROSSE CENTER

This event actually runs from Thursday to Sunday at the La Crosse Center, so you’ve got plenty of time to make it down. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for kids aged 6-17, and kids under 5 get in FREE! Find tickets here.

If you’re into hunting, fishing, boating, camping, travel, or ANYTHING outdoor…it’s probably going to be at the La Crosse Sport Show. There’s a plethora of vendors, expert seminars, a bunch of entertainment, and all sorts of beautiful boats & cool campers to check out.

Some of the other things to check out at the La Crosse Sport Show include grilling tips with Mad Dog & Merrill, a kids fishing clinic, free face painting, Dexter the Dog who can walk like a human, the safari north wildlife park, the parakeet landing, and MUCH more. Find the full daily schedule here.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON – THE WINTER ROOTS FESTIVAL @ THE LA CROSSE CENTER(RIVERSIDE BALLROOM)

If it’s local, it’s at the 3rd Annual Winter Roots Festival! Live local music, local vendors, local drinks, local food, local people!!!

SUNDAY – CUSTOMER APPRECIATION PARTY @ THE MIRAGE SPORTS BAR

One of my favorite spots on the South Side is the Mirage Sports Bar. Great drinks, food, & atmosphere. Plenty of TVs to catch all the basketball, football, NASCAR, and more.

This #SundayFunday, it’s their annual “Customer Appreciation Party” from 11am until 5pm with free food(including shaved prime/pork loin sammiches, homemade mac-n-cheese, coleslaw, creamy potato soup, & desserts), prizes, raffles, and 50¢ off all drinks during the party!

Some of the raffles include guns, a TV, a couples package, and lottery tickets.

And you might as well stick around to watch the Super Bowl.

As always, there’s plenty of other events happening in the area this weekend and you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com
