Three Things to do in & Around River City this weekend.

Another decent weekend ahead, weather-wise….with highs in the low 40’s all weekend long.

I’m actually going to be on vacation next week, so I can really get after it this weekend! Much like last weekend, we’re going to be pretty busy. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – PAT MCCURDY’S UGLY XMAS SWEATER PARTY @ THE ALPINE INN

Get your duff up the bluff for the 14th Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at the Alpine Inn, featuring a true Wisconsin legend, Pat McCurdy!

Pat always puts on a great show, but these holiday gigs are on another level. Lots of Christmasy tunes & plenty of laughter! Get there early & help celebrate Dave Lee’s birthday with some food, drinks, & merriment! Plus, SEX & BEER!

Pat starts at 8ish, and we’re having a White Elephant gift exchange! If you want to participate, keep your gift to $20 and under.

SATURDAY – MEET SANTA & WATCH “THE POLAR EXPRESS” @ THE RIVOLI THEATRE & PIZZERIA

SANTA!!!!!!!!!!!! I know him!

And on Saturday morning, he’s stopping by the Rivoli Theatre & Pizzeria to hang out with the kids, find out what everyone wants for Christmas, take a few pics, and watch “The Polar Express”!

Doors open at 11am and the movie starts at 12:15pm. Purchase your tickets in advance here.

SATURDAY NIGHT – SECRET SANTA CULT MOVIE NIGHT @ THE RIVOLI THEATRE & PIZZERIA

After the kids get their fill of candy canes & Santa, bring them home, pay the babysitter, and get back to the Rivoli Theatre & Pizzeria for their “Secret Santa Cult Movie Night” featuring two incredible movies, back-to-back!

Now, I know what the movies are going to be…but I can’t reveal the secret. You’ll just have to come to the Rivoli to see what they have in store. I can tell you that these are NOT Christmas/holiday movies, but they both delve into the theme of anti-consumerism and the horrors of shopping!

Tickets for this super secret cult movie night are just $10 at the door, so get to the Riv early to buy yours! Doors open at 5pm and the first film starts at 6pm. Attendees are encouraged to wear festive clothes, and you can enjoy fun/weird Christmas/holiday clips during the pre-rolls for both films.

Find more info on this event here.

SUNDAY – SKATE WITH SANTA @ THE ONALASKA OMNI CENTER

This dude is EVERYWHERE. He’s doing breakfast at this place…watching movies over here…going ice skating with the kids at the Onalaska Omni Center!

Yup, Santa is going to lace up the skates & hit the ice on Sunday from 5:30pm until 7:30pm and it’s just $5 to attend, and $5 to rent skates.

Along with Santa, there’s going to be plenty of holiday music, and every kid gets a free goodie bag!

As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening in our area this weekend & you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com
