Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend!

Summer is FINALLY over. The heat is takin’ it’s ass back to Arizona or hell or wherever it goes in the fall.

But there’s still PLENTY of things going on in our area this time of year as we get ready for Oktoberfest & the cooler temps.

Wife already put all the fall decorations out, and I’ve been packing away all the summer stuff in the backyard to get ready for winter. The NFL kicks off this week, and I know I’ll be watching my Patriots on #SundayFunday! Probably enjoy a few Festbiers during the game. And we’re looking forward to our vacation to Iron River in October.

If you’re looking for something to do in our area this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – RIVER CITY CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING’S “RIVER RUMBLE 8” @ THE ROY L. VINGERS AMERICAN LEGION POST #52

Live, local wrestling right in our backyard thanks to River City Championship Wrestling! It’s their 8th Annual River Rumble at the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post #52 in La Crosse. Doors open at 6pm and the ‘rasslin’ gets started at 7pm. Tickets are available online in advance(click here), or get them at the door if there’s any left!

This event features a 30-man, over-the-top battle royal, with the winner getting the first guaranteed shot at the RCCW Heavyweight strap in 2024. Also on the card, Warwick Stephans taking on 2Guns, Jack Spade vs. Nathan Sensation, Brock Hall vs. Hartenbower, and more!

SATURDAY – STEPPIN’ OUT IN PINK @ RIVERSIDE PARK IN LA CROSSE

A little bit brisk in the morning on Saturday, but warming up to 82° with plenty of sunshine!

So, bring a hoodie for the start of the 17th Annual “Steppin’ Out in Pink” event at Riverside Park in downtown La Crosse, and when it warms up, you’ll be able to transition to your pink t-shirt!

Steppin’ Out in Pink” is a non-competitive fundraising walk for all ages and abilities that raises money to support breast cancer research and patient support programs at the Gundersen Norma J. Vinger Center for Breast Care.

You can register online here, or in the morning at Riverside Park.

There will be some live music from Tom Conrad, Kal Schimmers, & Double Take on the Gillette Pepsi stage(the bandshell), along with the Honor Guard from the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post #52, and the National Anthem sung by Kristina Gross.

More live music along the route from Brian Beard & Sue Mitchell, DJ Brettly, & Cut Thyme!

Enjoy performances from Misty’s Dance Unlimited, the La Crosse Dance Centre, ClogJam, Amanda’s Academy of Dance, and the Hmong Dance Team on the Festival stage.

There will also be food, a vendor market, and the Roaming Ambassadors of Love Pet Therapy group from the Coulee Region Humane Society will be on-site with therapy dogs!!
