Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend.

Low 80’s all this weekend and a house full of rock stars. Apparently, our friends in Wayland will be crashing at our house this weekend before their sold-out booze cruise next Wednesday night here in La Crosse.

And if you didn’t get your tickets for that boat show, check them out before the booze cruise at John’s Bar starting at about 4pm.

Other than that, I’ve got a Rock Stop on Saturday at Shep’s Riverside Bar & Grill, and I’m sure I’ll be busy cleaning the house after having a few extra dogs roaming around this week while Puck’s outta town. If you’re looking for info on the bike & a complete list of the remaining Rock Stops, click here.

And if you’re looking to get out & do something this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – HIGH & RISING WITH WISE JENNINGS @ THE TREMPEALEAU HOTEL, RESTAURANT, & SALOON

Grab your lawn chairs & take the beautiful drive up to Trempealeau for live tunes from the High & Rising duo, and Wise Jennings at the Trempealeau Hotel, Restaurant, & Saloon!

Both bands are a husband & wife duo, and the show starts at 6:30pm. There’s no cover, but a recommended minimum donation of $10 is suggested & will go directly to the bands.

The menu at the restaurant changes, but they do have a great craft beer & cocktail menu, and you can enjoy $5 off bottles of wine ALL NIGHT on Friday at the bar!

SATURDAY – PARKING LOT PARTY @ GREAT RIVER HARLEY-DAVIDSON

After getting back from the Harley-Davidson 120th Anniversary party in Milwaukee last weekend, Brody & the staff at Great River Harley-Davidson are throwing another party in their parking lot this Saturday.

The party starts at 10:30am with two food trucks, including Chili Revolution & an ice cream truck from the Utter Brothers Creamery. Live music from American Standard from noon until 2pm. Demo rides, door prizes, and MUCH more!!

SATURDAY NIGHT – DEAD AMSTERDAM ALBUM RELEASE PARTY @ THE MAIN – AN EVENT SPACE

After rocking stages & melting face throughout the Coulee Region, Dead Amsterdam is finally ready to release their debut album on Saturday night at the Main – An Event Space in downtown La Crosse.

Doors open at 7pm and there’s a $10 cover. Joining Dead Amsterdam at the Main will be The Heaping Spoonfuls from Winona, and Cooking with Chef from Duluth.

SUNDAY – 2023 MEDITERRANEAN FESTIVAL @ ST. ELIAS ORTHODOX CHURCH

You know….I’ve driven by this event a bunch of times over the last umpteen years, but never stopped.

I’m stopping this year.

The 49th Annual Mediterranean festival at St. Elias Orthodox Church on Copeland Ave. is from noon until 5pm on Sunday and it’s free to attend, and ALL are welcome! Even me!

There’s going to be folk dancing & live music, a silent auction, face painting for the kids, church tours at 1pm & 3pm, an ethnic bake sale, a Zalabee sale, and of course…..FOOD!

Grab a chicken kebab meal and a sliced lamb meal for just $22, or grab a falafel meal for only $16!

Each meal comes with Syrian rice, Greek salad, tsatziki sauce, pita, hummus, Kalmata olives, and the lamb is locally raised & grass-fed from Jacobson Farms.

There’s also going to be a beer tent with Greek wine available, and water & soda for those looking for non-alcoholic options.

As always, there’s plenty of other events happening in our area this weekend & you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com
