Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend!

Nothing wrong with a nice, long, four-day, holiday weekend!

Except for the air quality. And the heat. And the eventual mayfly hatch.

Despite all those things, I’m looking forward to a couple of extra days away from work as we gear up for Rock Fest!

I will be at Shep’s Riverside Bar & Grill in Lansing on Saturday for the Rock Stop, so swing by & sign up. And if you need more info on the 95 Days of Summer, you can click here.

Here’s a few suggestions if you’re looking for something to do this weekend:

The 40th RiverFest kicks off on Friday and I’m really looking forward to having some lunch in the park with my wife & booing the Mayor during the opening ceremonies!

Obviously, the Fest runs all weekend and there’s no shortage of things to see & do! There’s live music from Tom Conrad, .38 Special, someone named Cooper Alan, Boogie & the Yo-Yoz, the Remainders, Last Call, Carlie Hanson, & many more!

Sadly, no Hootie & the Blowfish. (sad trombone)

There’s obviously a ton of food, ice cold beer, and plenty of family-friendly activities, including live wrestling from River City Championship Wrestling, magic shows, the River City Water Ski Team water skiing shows, axe-throwing, & SO much more.

Don’t forget….the La Crosse SkyRockers fireworks on Friday AND Tuesday from Pettibone Beach!!!!

If you love racin’ & you love fireworks, then this is your jam!

You’ve got the Late Models, Sportsmen, Hornets, 6-Shooters, & the extremely funny Outhouse Race!

Gates open at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway at 5:30pm and qualifying starts right after. Then, the racing begins at 7pm. It’s super-affordable, with tickets ranging from $4 for kids aged 6-11, $7 for students aged 12-17, $13 for seniors, and $15 for adults. Buy your tickets online here.

And of course, after all the on-track action wraps up, stick around for the Kwik Trip Fireworks spectacular!!!

Bangor Lanes has a new owner, and they’re having a party to celebrate!

Join Neil & the gang at Bangor Lanes on Sunday starting at noon for food, drinks, & live music from John Ward, followed by Big Liquor!

Feel free to bring your lawn chairs to relax & enjoy yourself! No cover!!!

As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening in our area this weekend and you can find many of them online at

And if you’ve got an event coming up that you’d like to see featured on, you can submit it for free here.
