Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend.

SIXTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bike is finally coming out of the garage this weekend. It needs a nice, long ride…some fresh gas…and a wash!

Other than that, we’ll probably paint & assemble the wife’s Free Little Library that I bought for her birthday back in January and get it ready to install in the front yard. Might even have a firepit on Saturday night!

Then, Easter Sunday with the family. Looking forward to some ham & crockpot mac-and-cheese!

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here’s a few suggestions:

FRIDAY – DEAD AMSTERDAM WITH MOODHOUSE @ LEO & LEONA’S

Live music at Leo & Leona’s is nothing new, but it’s going to be a bit louder and heavier this week with Dead Amsterdam hitting the stage on Friday night, with special guests, Moodhouse!

If I had to describe Dead Amsterdam, I’d say they are similar to Down. That throbbing, bluesy, angsty mix of rock & metal. Does that even make sense? Either way, they’re really good!

Doors open at 6pm and music starts at 7pm. Tickets are just $10 at the door.

SATURDAY – BENEFIT FOR “BRICK OVEN” BILL HARNISH @ MIKE’S LOGAN BAR

“Brick Oven” Bill is a long-time listener of ours and occasionally stops by in the mornings to drop off some delicious treats & to request some old-school Judas Priest or Iron Maiden.

Sadly, Bill Harnish was diagnosed with throat cancer and after undergoing chemo & radiation treatments, he’s now dealing with the side effects and recovery.

He’s been unable to work, and his bills are piling up! There is a GoFundMe account for “Brick Oven” Bill that you can still donate to, but Bills friends & family are having a benefit on Saturday, April 8th at Mike’s Logan Bar starting at noon.

Enjoy food & beer for a $20 donation, and stick around for a 50/50, a silent auction, tip boards & more!

Find out more info on this event here.

SATURDAY NIGHT – THE BROTHERS BURN MOUNTAIN @ SAXON HALL

Pizza. Drinks. Music.

Does it get any better?

Yes, it does. When that pizza is from Saxon Hall in Brownsville!!!! (Get the meat lovers!)

Take a spin down the river road to see live tunes on Saturday night from The Brothers Burn Mountain at Saxon Hall! Pretty soon, we’ll be able to enjoy bands OUTSIDE at Saxon Hall!

Order a pizza, enjoy an ice-cold beer & soak in the good times!

SUNDAY – EASTER BRUNCH @ CHAMPIONS RIVERSIDE RESORT

If you’re looking for a place to enjoy an Easter meal with your family, or by yourself…there’s no shortage of places in the La Crosse area to choose from this weekend.

Obviously, a LOT of these places will be fully packed & reservations are highly recommended! So, make sure you call ahead & see if they’ve got any space left.

One place you can try is Champions Riverside Resort in Galesville!

Their breakfast buffet runs from 9am until 2pm & costs $16 per person.

The buffet includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, ham, sausage, broasted chicken and assorted muffins.

You can reserve a table by clicking here.

As always, there’s a bunch of other events happening in our area this weekend & you can find many of them online at AroundRiverCity.com

And if you’ve got an event coming up that you’d like to see on AroundRiverCity.com, you can submit it for FREE here.
