Three things to do in & around La Crosse this weekend.

Look…temps in the upper 30’s & lower 40’s in February has me thinking about riding. Unfortunately, that heavy coating of salt & sand on the roads has me thinking it’s best to wait for just a bit longer before busting out the Harley.

Oh well….riding season will be here soon enough.

Wife’s outta town this weekend, so I’ll be looking for something to do on Friday & Saturday night, and here’s a few places you’ll probably find me:

FRIDAY – WINTER ROOTS FESTIVAL “ICE BREAKER” EVENT @ THE MAIN – AN EVENT SPACE

Doors open at 6pm for this bad boy at the Main – An Event Space in downtown La Crosse. It’s free to get in with your EARLY ENTRY tickets for the La Crosse Winter Roots Festival, or you can pay five bucks at the door!

There’s going to be live tunes from Nobody’s Dope, and the La Crosse Distilling Company will be unleashing a few special variations of their Barbegazi Black Lager, including a Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter version, and an Orange Pistachio version. Hooray for beer!

Plus, the Hunger Task Force will be on-site to collect nonperishable food items. So, grab a bag full of canned foods, peanut butter, noodles, etc., and come down to the Main and attend the La Crosse Winter Roots Festival pre-party with me!

Find more info here.

SATURDAY – THE LA CROSSE WINTER ROOTS FESTIVAL @ THE LA CROSSE CENTER

After the pre-party, you have to attend the actual party, right?

Well, it’s going to be a hell of a good time at the La Crosse Center on Saturday afternoon with live music, food, beverages, a vendor market, a silent auction, raffles, & more!

The “Bloody Mary Experience” is just $30 and gets you in an hour early for some live tunes courtesy of Phoenix, and also includes the La Crosse Distilling Co. featuring its special Winter Roots “Gazi” Black Lager & bloody mary’s in a commemorative glass! Plus, the bloody mary garnish table brought to you by the People’s Food Co-op. You can buy those tickets here.

The GA tickets are just $20 and gets you through the doors at 1pm. You can purchase those tickets here.

There’s going to be a free vendor market that everyone can enjoy, along with a silent auction & raffle, with a portion of the ticket price benefiting the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse.

You can check out performances from Knee-High July, The Lavender Project, Chicken Wire Empire w/Chris Castino, Ryan Necci & the Buffalo Gospel, The Smokin’ Bandits, and The Remainders!

Get your tickets & all the rest of the info here.

SUNDAY – CHASEBURG SOLE BURNER CHICKEN-Q @ THE TIPPY TOE INN

Holy crap! It’s already Chicken-Q season!

The American Cancer Society Sole Burner of Chaseburg is having their annual Chicken-Q and bake sale on Sunday at the Tippy Toe Inn in Chaseburg.

The Q starts at 11am & continues until all chicken is gone. Homemade pastries and baked goods will also be available.
