Visit Preston, MN!

Yesterday, I took the beautiful drive to Preston, MN to stop by the Sweet Stop & Sandwich Shoppe!

It was a beautiful day for a ride on the Harley, but I was planning on picking up a few pies & a sandwich, and wanted to have a cooler to transport them safely back home.

Now, if you’re going by bike for a visit, I suggest avoiding the County Rd. route as there’s a bunch of gravel & road construction. Try going the I-90 route.

I opted for the Reuben sandwich, and it was incredible! The rye bread was deliciously dark and soft, the corned beef sliced nice & thin so it didn’t all come sliding out onto my face as I ate it. I also enjoyed the slice of strawberry rhubarb pie when I got home. It was absolutely fantastic. The perfect combination of sweet & tart.

Brenda & Mike were extremely nice and even gave me a growler from Karst Brewing in Fountain, MN. They got me the “Edge of the Earth” oatmeal stout which I’ll be opening later this evening. And I’m definitely looking forward to a road trip up there for a visit.

After my time at the Sweet Stop, I walked a few doors down to Trout City brewing and checked out the place. It’s a really cool mom & pop coffee shop, restaurant & brewery with several of their own beers on tap and a few guest taps. Plus, a neat little beer hall and a quaint, but surprisingly large outdoor patio area.

Now, Niagara cave & Mystery cave are currently not open, but if they reopen later this year & you’re looking for a great lunch and a beer or two in the area, you should DEFINTIELY stop by the Sweet Stop & Sandwich Shoppe & Trout City Brewing!

Check out Estelles in Harmony, MN if you get to make it to Niagara Cave!

We drove through there today on our bike to Spring Valley and 4 Daughters Winery.
Catch highway 16 from Hokah Mn for a beautiful country ride. Just follow 16, it’ll take you right there. Maybe a few more miles but who’s in a hurry on a beautiful day on the bike. You won’t be disappointed. Plenty of stops on the way back, like the pie shop in Whalen Mn. Or the Iron Horse in Lanesboro Mn. Safe riding!?
