Joe Galewski Benefit

Joe Galewski, a lifelong resident of Independence, WI, was first diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in February 2008, he underwent chemotherapy only for the cancer to return in May 2012. He underwent another round of chemotherapy, followed by radiation as well as a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, in November 2015, Joe’s lymphoma returned for a third time. Joe recently underwent chemotherapy and another stem cell transplant, using donor cells from Joe’s brother, John. Because of the transplant and having no immune system, Joe is unable to leave his home, which also leaves him unable to work. Since Joe is unable to work, covering the mounting medical bills is very difficult, which is why we have decided to put together this benefit to help him with the increasing costs of treatment and travel.

Enjoy an evening filled with food, a sportsmen’s raffle, euchre tournament, silent and live auction, all of which will be held on Saturday the 24th at Saints Peter & Paul School in Independence!

Donations can be dropped off at East End Bar in Independence, or contact Rose Kamrowski at 608-539-2801 or Jessica Schue at 715-530-0162 for donation pick up. Monetary donations can be mailed to the Independence State Bank at PO Box 725, Independence, WI 54747 and made payable “Joe M. Galewski Cancer Benefit”.
