Melissa Lockman is a 36 year old wife and mother of 3 boys. On August 13th, 2010 Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer. She carries a rare gene (mutation BRCA1) which makes her at high risk for various cancers, especially breast cancer, colon cancer, and ovarian cancer.
Melissa has had a double mastectomy, radiation, chemo and a hysterectomy. On Friday, September 7, 2012 she found out the cancer reappeared on her femur and hip bone. The cancer is not curable, however if no other organs are affected and certain receptors are positive, they maybe able to contain the cancer and extend her life a few years.
Missy had surgery on September 14, 2012 to place screws in her hip to strengthen the bone and to do a biopsy.
Please join Melissa’s family and friends at a CELEBRATION OF LIFE BENEFIT to raise money to help the family.
