Big Bikes for Little Tikes 2008 comes full circle with the return of Avery Valentine and his family who had an amazing time on the Disney Cruise to the Bahamas that you sent them on! The look on Avery’s face says it all!
The trip allowed Avery to swim with dolphins, see some really neat Disney live shows and even meet some of his favorite Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Captain Jack Sparrow!
Thanks again for all the support and effort you put in to making Big Bikes for Little Tikes a great event year after year! We look forward to doing it all over again in 2009!

We are finally rolling up to that time of year. Get out your 2008 Rock Calendar…oh wait! Look at that, we already have it marked for you! We like to be cool like that. You know exactly whats happening, so just keep it in the back of your skull that its coming up. We’re gonna be partying at the Southside Fest Grounds May 17th, rocking out with the

and helping one child from the Coulee Region with a wish. Start getting that bike ready, because it will be here before you know it.
MEET YOUR 2008 BIG BIKES KID!
This year we will be riding for 12-year-old Avery Valentine of La Crescent. Avery was born prematurely and has struggled with this health ever since. Born with Cerebral Palsy he has since developed severe diabetes and about five years ago started to loose function in his feet.
Avery’s parents, Kay Bell of La Crescent and Timothy Valentine of La Crosse, finally received a diagnosis from Mayo in Rochester. Avery has Progressive Degenerative Neuropathy. Avery’s immune system is attacking his nervous system. This disease is extremely painful and has resulted in Avery losing the ability to bear weight on his feet or legs. At this point he is confined to a wheelchair while the disease continues to spread to his hands and arms. This is a progressive disease with no cure.

Avery is in 6th grade at La Crescent Middle School. He spends his free time with his brother, Nick, his step-siblings, and his good buddies Curren and Jacob.

Once again this year we will be Riding for a Reason with Big Bikes for Little Tikes. Avery is in the process of finalizing his wish! He has decided that he would love to go on a Disney cruise!!! It would be an easy trip for his family, and a lot more fun. We hope to see you on May 17th, to help make his wish come true.
Help us help this wonderful local child with Big Bikes for Little Tikes 2008.
