On Oct. 16, 2011 Jake Scott was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. Jake has had a series of surgeries, the most recent removing his lymph nodes on his right side.
Due to the new Health Care Laws, and Jake turning 26 years old on Nov. 2, 2011, his health insurance ended on Dec. 31, 2011. Since Jake is unable to secure private health insurance he will need to pay for Cobra insurance. As you may know, Cobra insurance is very expensive. In addition to the extra insurance costs, lost wages and other out of pocket medical needs, there is going to be a financial burden for Jake for at least the next two years.
There will be a benefit for Jake on Friday, March 9th at All Star Lanes starting at 6pm. There will be live auctions, a Texas Hold ‘em tournament, ring toss, raffles, tip boards, music and much more!
There will be a $5 donation to get in. It includes admission, food, a chance to spin the wheel for a prize, and music!
Donations can be sent to:
Jake’s Cancer Benefit
C/O Citizen’s State Bank
PO Box 219
La Crosse, WI 54601
The funds that his family raises will help to ease the financial stress and allow him to fully focus on his recovery. We are hopeful you will be able to help our cause by making a donation.
