This year we will be riding for 9-year old Alexis Barton of Onalaska.
Alexis began complaining of leg pain in 2010. Her parents initially attributed it to normal growing pains. When the pain increased, they took her to the doctor and she was treated for lyme disease. When the pain again increased, they met with bone and blood physicians. It was revealed that Alexis has A.L.L. Leukemia. She was diagnosed in late October 2010 and is currently undergoing her 4th chemotherapy treatment at St. Mary’s in Rochester.
Since beginning treatment she has had a very difficult struggle. She has been very sick for months. Her Mom says “I just want Alexis to not feel sick again”.
Alexis loves spending time with her parents, sisters and extended family. She is a water lover and wants very much for her family to get to enjoy boating, fishing and time on the River!
Once again this year we will be Riding for a Reason with Big Bikes for Little Tikes. Alexis’ wish is for a boat to enjoy with her family and friends! With your help, we can make this wish come true.
Help us help this wonderful local child with Big Bikes for Little Tikes 2011.
